A Decision Made

In this society in which no one seems to have time for rest or time of reflection, we are constantly making decisions, whether for good or bad, that has an affect on our lives and the lives of others.

We decide what to wear; what to eat; even when we sleep. Decisions, decisions are all we do and yet most forget or should I say ignore the most vital decision that will emphatically produce what we will become and where we will reside after the passing of our time. I truly believe, no matter how defensive a human can be; or what indolent philosophy used, there is a sense in us of a better place (Heaven) and a worst place (Hell) than the world we live in. We see it in micro terms: we want the murder to pay for his crimes and we want the noble to be recompense for their valiant deeds. These two places as mention above are real, not based on mortal imagination, but on eternal relevance. With that solid knowledge, I bring you to the title above.

How does a decision take place for the better or the worst? Let us begin with the worst; for it is denied by many with such force as one denies the existence of fairies-although many have more faith in those imaginations than truth. The worst has already, sadly, been decided by an ancestor we all share. He, having dominion over the beast of the field and the fowls of the air, made a decision himself for the worst, and thereby reserving us for that place. A tragic series of events, indeed, but impossible to avoid; however, it is popular knowledge to deny the rightful reservation, and to forget it with such alacrity that it is a pure shame.

We show our reserved status by the decision we make, that are just as fleeting as our ancestor did: hurting some one here, or blaming another there; lying to save one’s own skin, and the occasional apathetic attitude to anything true and worthwhile. Some ruin marriages; others encourage strife on all levels; and others still murder, not by the tearing of flesh, but by the crushing the spirit of a fellow human being. The worst is the rightful place for all, and yet mercy; and greater still, love offers the better.

How does one get to the better? Only by deciding to follow the One who is better. This One, meaning Christ; who we owe all thankfulness and worship, has provided a way to the better. This way is driven by blood; shed willing in order to spare us a most fitting fate. Now the deciding factor is up to us: a better place awaits and so does the worst. There is an open hand, which bears peace, love, joy, and salvation that we all need; and indeed, long for. The burdens of this modern day tend to push away the draw to know the best, which his Christ. Take the time to think of your life, knowing it will end; a concept that cannot be refused.

A decision made to know the best and why He became an offering to remove us from that worst place is a wise decision made. Whatever you decide will be made for the better or the worst. Peace to you all.
