Clear Acne with Household Items

Contrary to popular belief, acne is not caused by eating too much chocolate. What causes acne is excessive oil building up in the pores of the skin. Acne occurs in adults and teenagers. People try all types of over the counter treatments to clear acne only to find that it doesn’t work or that it is too strong and cause more problems. Instead of spending tons of money on over the counter products or special cleansers there are a number of household products that will help clear acne.

Pouring a small amount of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda into a cup and adding a little water to make a paste. Dab small amounts of the paste on the acne and let it sit for a few minutes. Gently scrub your face with the remaining paste. The baking soda cleanses your skin thoroughly, removes dead skin cells, loosens blackheads, and makes your face feel clean and smooth. Toothpaste can do more than just clean teeth if can also clear acne. Dab a small amount on the acne but make sure you use regular toothbrush, not any of those flavored kinds. You can also use Crest toothpaste on the acne and cover with a band-aid overnight to help the swelling go down.

Try some glue. Yes, that’s right, glue. Cover your face with a thin layer of Elmer’s glue, of course, avoid your eyes and mouth. Let the glue dry, and then gently peel it off. Peeling off removes a thin layer of skin along with oil build up. The next item to use is Epsom Salt. Mix one teaspoon of Epsom Salt with three drops of iodine and add to Ã?½ cup of boiling water will help clear acne. Let the mixture cool, dab some cotton balls or cotton strips with the mixture, and apply it to the acne. Do this three to four times, reheating the mixture. Once you have done this, apply an alcohol-based astringent, such as Witch Hazel to clean your face.

Mix white vinegar and water together, dip it with a cotton ball and clean your face, this helps get your skin back to its proper oil balance. Mix one teaspoon of corn starch (Kingsford’s) with one teaspoon of ReaLemon juice to make a paste. Apply the past to the acne and let it dry. This treatment helps clear the redness and clears the acne much faster. You can also use ReaLemon as a daily cleanser. Apply it before going to bed and in the morning wash off the juice with cool water. Do this for several nights and you will definitely notice the acne clearing up.

Dab some original flavor Listerine on the acne and leave it on your face for ten minutes or until you no longer feel the tingling sensation. Then rinse your face with warm water, then with cold water. Phillip’s Milk of Magnesia can be applied as a facial mask to dry your skin, reduce the redness and clear the acne. Fill a bowl with Quaker Oats, but don’t eat it, cook it, let it cool, and apply it to your face. Cover your face with a warm damp cloth. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then wash your face. Do this daily for a week and watch the acne clear up.

Apply a dab of SueBee Honey and put a band-aid over it before you go to bed. The honey kills the bacteria, keeps the acne sterile, and speeds the healing process overnight. A few more households that will help clear acne and the redness is Vicks VapoRub and a few drops of Visine. Put some shoe polish on that acne to help clear the pimples. Apply a few dabs of Kiwi white liquid shoe polish over the acne it helps dry the acne and brings it to a head. To bring a pimple to a head quickly, apply a Lipton Tea bag with hot water (don’t squeeze the water out) and apply it as a compress to your face. Don’t make it too hot, but don’t let it get too cool.
