Depression Symptoms

People can cause there own depression. That does not apply to everyone. Some people can’t control it. It seems once you get depressed, it’s hard to pick yourself up. If you think negative thoughts, then you will more than likely feel depressed. Depression can be fueled by negative or irrational thoughts. Everyone feels down once in a while, but depression can go beyond those feelings. Depression is a very serious problem if it continues for long periods of time. If you have any of the following symptoms for long periods of time, you should see a doctor.

– Having difficulty making decisions
– Having difficulty concentrating
– Feel sad
– Feel Hopeless
– Cry most of the time
– Having difficulty sleeping
– Sleeping more than usual
– Feel worthless
– Have no energy
– Feel tired all the time
– Feel empty
– Feel like no one cares about you

Psychologist say that the moment you have a certain thought and believe it, you will experience it. Depression can change the way a person thinks or feels. All depression can not be controlled simply by changing the way you think. Depression can interfere with your normal activities. About two third of people with depression go untreated. Depression should be treated properly. Not only does it affect you, but it affects your family and friends. If you have had one period of depression, then more than likely you will have another one in the future. Depression is a serious condition and shouldn’t be taking lightly.

If you or someone you know feels depressed and has some of the symptoms listed above you should see a doctor. Going on untreated only makes it worse. If you have major depression it will not get better without treatment.
