Flight 5191

The horror of Flight 5191 is still inconceivable to me. I live only minutes from Bluegrass Field. I have flown from there too many times to count. Plane crashes don’t happen here and we’re all reeling from the impact of it. It leaves me sick to my stomach. The more I read, the more I see how it could have been prevented, and that makes me all the more ill. (See my other works for a run down of the mistakes).

We grieve with the families. We share in their agony as much as any outsider can. We pray fervently for them and ourselves. How do we move forward? The crash site will always be hallowed ground. Who among us can drive Versailles Road, pass the airport and not remember? It is impossible.
