Hotel Guide: San Francisco, CA

So you’ve found yourself in the fourth-largest city in California? I’m talking nonetheless, San Francisco. This is also the fourteenth-largest city in the United States, with a population equaling almost a million residents. Another interesting fact, San Francisco is the second most densely populated major American city other than New York. This city was founed in 1776, and was named for Saint Francis. And with the advent of the California gold rush in 1848, the city entered rapid growth – and it hasn’t stopped since. So no matter why you are in San Francisco, you will find an amazing hotel. Well, I have researched and reviewed the top three hotels for your review.

The first hotel in which I reviewed is The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay. This five-star Oceanside retreat is only forty minutes from San Francisco, but it feels like you are on a completely different part of the world. This hotel was inspired by the grand seaside lodges of the 19th century, this resort is perched on a bluff overlooking a golf course and a huge stretch of the Pacific coastline, and it is only three miles from the town of Half Moon Bay. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers are the spectacular views, as well as two championship 18-hole golf courses, a 16,000 sq. ft. spa, beauty salon and fitness center. There is also an outdoor spa overlooking the ocean, tennis courts, and a nearby secluded beach. There are 261 spacious guestrooms and suites in its six-story frame. All rooms have laptop-compatible safes, minibars, full-sized desks, and high-speed Internet access. Cable TV includes premium channels, video games for a surcharge, and pay movies.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco. This five star hotel is located in the financial district. This hotel was recognized as the #2 Best hotel in the USA and #14 in the World by the 2004 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. This luxurious hotel occupies the upper floors of a 48-story, twin-tower office building, and attracts a Wall Stree clientele and other travelers who are seeking a luxury hotel. This hotel offers amenities such as a comfortable chairs in the lobby, complimentary wireless Internet access in all public areas, and views of the bustling streets of the financial district. There are 154 guestrooms, all of which include high-speed Internet access for a surcharge, and binoculars for enjoying the unobstructed views.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the four-and-a-half-star hotel, Campton Place. This luxury boutique hotel is located in the Union Square area. This hotel has been thoroughly updated since it’s 1900s beginnings. Some of the hotels amenities include 24-hour room service and a world-class fitness center on the ninth floor, which overlooks Union Square and the surrounding neighborhood.
