How to Keep Your Refrigerator Smelling Fresh

Keeping your refrigerator clean is very important for maintaining good hygiene. “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” is one of the ancient proverbs and it holds very true if the warehouse to store your food that is “the refrigerator” is kept clean. Also you wouldn’t be worried about the food that you are going to consume which has come right out of the refrigerator. I strongly believe that the refrigerator is the toughest part to keep clean and it gets dirty in no time. So, if you follow some of these quick and easy steps to keep the refrigerator clean then you wouldn’t be worried about eating the food that you take out from your refrigerator.

I know sometimes it’s just overwhelming to think that you have cleaned the refrigerator again despite the fact that you just cleaned it may be a week ago. But the fact is once you clean the fridge not only it’s good for the hygiene part but also you can find out whatever you are looking for in the refrigerator in no time and it will actually save your precious time. Also the air circulation in the refrigerator will also work better.

Here below are some tips/ideas to keep your refrigerator smelling fresh. I did try all of these at some point or other and trust me all of these are 100% proven ideas to keep your refrigerator smelling fresh.

1. Clean the sidewalls of refrigerator with white vinegar.

2. Put a baking soda box in your refrigerator to get fresh and clean smell inside the refrigerator.

3. Try and clean up the extra mess/food/spoiled food at least once in a week.

4. Place a bag of coffee ground in the refrigerator.

5. Keep fresh cut lemons in a bowl and keep it somewhere in the refrigerator.

6. Mix a drop of vanilla essence and 1 tsp baking soda and clean the sidewalls of a refrigerator.

7. Make sure that you get rid of those rotten vegetables from time to time.

8. This is one traditional cleaning procedure. First take all the food out of the refrigerator. Then when the refrigerator is empty, you can take out the racks and then take some mild soap and mix it with water and clean the racks of the refrigerator with that. Then put everything back and make sure you keep the similar items together because then it’s easier to find things quickly.

9. One can also use toothpaste to remove stains because toothpaste is abrasive.

10. You can use zip lock bags to store some food which is already used because zip lock is airtight. Juicy stuffs like tomatoes can leave really bad stains if you don’t make sure that you keep it in a zip lock bag or a paper towel underneath it should also work.

11. For the leftover food we can keep a paper towel in the bottom so that you don’t get any leftover food stains. Leftover food can leave real bad stains otherwise.

12. You can also use paper towel in the bottom part while stacking any food in the refrigerator boxes.

13. Don’t keep any food past its expiration date. If someone consumes this can make them ill.
