Everyone loves a good banana cream pie on a graham cracker crust, but there are even more crumb pie crusts that you can make with ease.

To make a crumb crust, take the cookies or crackers in a bag and roll over them with a rolling pin. You can also put them in a food processor to shred them. These crumbs now can be pressed for a good crust.

Preheat your oven to 375F. Mix crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a mixing bowl. Press this mixture into your pie pan, not forgetting to go up the sides of the pan and not just press it into the bottom of the pan.

Bake crust for ten minutes and let it cool for thirty minutes before you fill with your pudding pie. You can them, upon filling, freeze or refrigerate the pie.

Crumb Pie Crust Ingredients

Chocolate Wafer – 1 1/4 cups cookie crumbs or 20 chocolate wafers, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter.
Cream-filled vanilla or chocolate cookies – 1 1/2 cups cookie crumbs or 15 cookies, no sugar, and 1/4 cup melted butter.
Crispy macaroon cookies – 1 1/2 cups cookie crumbs, no sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter
Gingersnap cookies – 1 1/2 cups cookie crumbs, no sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter
Graham crackers – 1 1/2 cups cookie crumbs or 24 squares, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup melted butter
Granola – 1 1/2 cups granola crumbs, no sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter
Pretzel – 1 1/4 cups pretzel crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup melted butter
Vanilla wafer – 1 1/2 cups wafer crumbs or 30 wafers, no sugar, 1/4 cup melted butter

Chocolate Wafer Pie Crust
1/2 cup milk
32 large marshmallows
1/4 cup creme de menthe
3 T white creme de cacao
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
green food coloring
grated semisweet baking chocolate

Heat milk and marshmallows in a saucepan over low heat, stir constantly. After marshmallows are melted, refrigerate 20 minutes.
Slowly stir in the creme de menthe and the creme de cacao. Beat the whipping cream in a separate bowl until stiff with an electric mixer. Fold the marshmallow mixture into the whipping cream mixture. Fold in a few drops of green food coloring and spread into the crust. Sprinkle with grated semisweet baking chocolate. Refrigerate for 4 hours and refrigerate any remaining pie after serving.

Sample Crumb Pie Recipe: Coffee Cordial Pie

Chocolate Wafer Pie Crust
1/2 cup water
1 T instant coffee
32 large marshmallows
1/4 cup coffee liqueur
3 T white Irish whiskey
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
grated semisweet baking chocolate

Heat water, instant coffee, and marshmallows in a saucepan over low heat, stir constantly. After marshmallows are melted, refrigerate 20 minutes.
Slowly stir in the coffee liqueur and the Irish Whiskey. Beat the whipping cream in a separate bowl until stiff with an electric mixer. Fold the marshmallow mixture into the whipping cream mixture. Fold into the crust. Sprinkle with grated semisweet baking chocolate. Refrigerate for 4 hours and refrigerate any remaining pie after serving.

1/3 cup Irish cream liqueur
1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

Beat the whipping cream in a separate bowl until stiff with an electric mixer. Fold the marshmallow mixture into the whipping cream mixture. Fold into the crust. Sprinkle with grated semisweet baking chocolate. Refrigerate for 4 hours and refrigerate any remaining pie after serving.
