How to Write More Articles More Quickly

Any professional writer will tell you that in order to have a successful writing career, you will have to produce a lot of content quickly. You will also need to make sure that the content you produce is quality content. So, how do you write more article faster? Simple. Follow these rules of thumb.

Pick Your Topics Before Hand

Before you begin your writing marathon, you need to choose the topics on which you will write. Choose several topics that are related. Since I work full time, I don’t have the luxury of spending hours in front of my computer. In order to make every minute count, I pick 3 to 5 articles to write at a time.

Do Your Research First

Before you put pen to paper, check your facts and gather your sources. Although some writers claim that research for your article should only take about 15 minutes, you may find that you need a little longer depending on the type of article you are writing. Once you have your research out of the way, you can begin.

Outline

Create an outline of your articles. For each article, add your sub-headings. You may also want to go ahead and list any important information that you don’t want to forget underneath each heading. Outlining will help to make writing faster and easier.

Complete the Body

I have found that I can write the body of my articles a lot faster than I can write the introduction and the conclusion. So, instead of wasting time trying to come up with a good introduction, I just start writing my article. Once the article is complete, I begin to work on my introduction and conclusion.

Attention-Grabbing Introduction

Make sure the introduction grabs your reader’s attention. And, keep the introduction short. Three or four good sentences are enough. Remember, this is the appetizer to the meal.

Brief Conclusion

Don’t drag out the conclusion. The conclusion should wrap up your paper and briefly highlight the key points. I often reword a sentence or two from my introduction to form my conclusion. This helps me close out the article, and it saves me the trouble of having to think of a lot to say at the end of an article.

Length

Internet readers don’t want to be bogged down with a lot of material. They want to find the information that they are looking for and move on. So, don’t make your articles too long. If you are going to write more articles in less time, you will need to cut those articles short. Keep them within 400 to 500 words.

Edit Last

Let editing be your last step. Don’t stop each time you misspell a word. This can interfere with the flow of your writing. When you are on a roll, keep going. Correct mistakes when you finish. You can edit all of your articles at one time or you can edit them each as you finish. For me, it is easier to edit each article as I complete it.

Go from Easiest to Hardest

Start on your easiest articles first. You know more about them, and you can produce them quicker. To do longer, more complicated pieces, I choose a day that I am not busy or on a deadline. This ensures that my research papers are well-written, and it helps me to write more articles.

Time Yourself

You can also time yourself to see how long it takes you to write a simple 500 word article. If you type fast, you should be able to produce a short article in about 30 minutes or less.

The amount of content you produce will determine the amount of income you make. Produce more content faster by using the tips listed above.
