New York City’s Finest Attractions

If you plan on visiting the largest city in the United States, New York City, than you should come prepared with a schedule of where you want to go and what you want to see. New York City has some of the most popular landmarks in the entire world and can really be a good place to go vacationing. You might even gain some more knowledge about the history of the United States as well.

There are many museums of all kinds that can be found in New York, ranging from art museums to ones that deal with the country’s history. The American Museum of Natural History is possibly one of the most important museums in all of the United States, as it deals with the country’s past and has been around since 1869. There are many exhibits that are constantly being opened up and the museum has been expanded since it was first released in the 19th century. The museum has exhibits on everything from the universe’s past and animals found in rainforests. Another museum which focuses solely on having its visitors understand what immigration into America was first like is the Ellis Island Immigration Museum.

New York City is also home to many unique and historic art museums with pieces from all over the globe. With over 2 million different pieces of art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is perhaps one of the most famous museums in the entire world. Fans of contemporary art might also want to go check out the Museum of Modern Art, which has a wide range of modern art. That museum has some history as well, as in 1929 it became the first contemporary art specific museum.

Once you’re done checking out the various museums of New York City, you might be interested in taking a look at some of the wonderful and popular landmarks of the city. Seeing the Statue of Liberty in person is a must-do if you’re visiting New York. The Staten Island Ferry provides a nice view of the large, green statue, which symbolizes freedom in America, and lets you travel from Staten Island all the way down to Lower Manhattan.

Of course the Empire State Building and Central Park are important places to check out when you’re in New York as well. The view from the top of the Empire State Building truly is breathtaking and really gives you a sense of what New York City really is. New York’s Central Park is a large yet peaceful place you might want to check out for a little rest.

If you’re looking to shop at the wonderful, classy stores of New York, you must check out the Grand Central Terminal and the Rockefeller Center. The Grand Central Terminal really has it all, as it is home to plenty of nice shops, great restaurants, transportation, and more. The Rockefeller Center is a great place to go for shopping, but it’s also a fun place to go ice skating during the winter time.

There are so many activities to do and attractions to see if you’re visiting New York City, which is why it so important to plan ahead of time and decide what exactly you’re going to do when you finally get there. If you don’t, you might regret it and just feel overwhelmed due to the size of the city and everything it has to offer.
