Palm Beach Community College Offers a Great Start or Finish to Your Education

If you are looking to further your education, Palm Beach Community College has many different features that may appeal to you. They offer the traditional Associate in Arts Degree that will enter you into a university with a Junior status upon completion, as well as Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees that can enter you right into the working field of your choice. They also offer many vocational certificate programs ranging from medical to technical that can help to enhance your current job situation or help to beef up your resume and/or experience for a new one.

If you are looking to physically attend college courses, they have four campuses that cover all areas of Palm Beach County. If you prefer the less traditional setting of studying at home there are also various options for distance learning courses, including web-based, courses in a box (video tape learning) or a combination of campus/web course work. There is also student housing available close to the central campus in Lake Worth should you meet the criteria.

There are Honors Courses to take if desired and many organizations from Student Government to Phi Theta Kappa to join that can help diversify your educational experience and provide you vital links into the community. The college offers baseball and basketball among their sporting options and has excellent leadership and scholarship opportunities in both.

Because it is a community college it does not cater to any one age group. Students fresh out of high school, to those working and pursuing their education simultaneously, to those who are retired and taking course work for personal enjoyment provide a delightfully diverse component to the student population.

The registration process is one of ease with online capacity for all majors and course offerings, and for those requiring more personal attention, the staff could not be more attentive. The administration and Board in charge of the school clearly puts the student body first and pays strict attention to curriculum detail and keeping course work up to date. With such a diversified offering of courses, scheduling, degrees and certificates, and great sense of community, this school is bound to have something you are looking for in your educational pursuit. For those needing help along the way, there are very informed department heads, academic advisers, and a fantastic career center available for the taking. There is also an excellent financial aid department for financial needs and a library that offers access to any and all reading material state-wide via their expedient inter-library loan service. Plentiful resources, competent assistance, intimate class sizes, and considerate and articulate professors/instructors make up the structure of this college where anyone is bound to find something of interest to them. Should pursuing/enhancing your education in South Florida be a consideration for you, Palm Beach County unequivocally should be high on your list of considerations, for they truly have the community college experience down to a ‘T.’ “Expect More” is currently their marketing logo. As a former graduate of the college, I can say that their logo is right on cue. At PBCC, you can expect more of every conceivable positive aspect of education, and you will undeniably get it.
