Picking Travel Accommodations for Your Honeymoon

There are many types of travel accommodation options to explore for your honeymoon. You must decide on what type of honeymoon you would like, where you should stay, and what amenities you wish for your accommodations to have. The decision is often not easy as each option has its own set of pros and cons.

Cruise – Choosing a cruise for your honeymoon will cut down on most of the decision making since you will be choosing one company for every thing, such as food, lodging, and entertainment. You will want to be sure to choose the right company because, since you will be spending your entire vacation on one ship, if one thing goes wrong it is likely that your whole honeymoon will follow right along.

All-inclusive resorts – An all-inclusive resort will provide everything for you, such as a cruise ship will, for one price. This also means that they have the same advantages and disadvantages as a cruise ship honeymoon, but on land instead. One different advantage to this is that if things do not go well, you are not stuck out in the middle of the ocean, and can leave if you wish. On the other hand, if you do not chose your resort wisely you may end up paying for extras that you will not use anyway.

Vacation packages – These can range from small packages, such as combining fees for hotel and airfare, to big packages, such as full-blown wedding and honeymoon packages. The most sought after advantage of a package it that it is often cheaper than purchasing each separately. It is also offers more convenient planning. The drawback is that you have limited options.

Hotel suite – Chosen by many honeymooners, the advantage of a hotel are the services that are offered. You don’t have to cook, clean, drive yourself, or carry your own suit case. The biggest disadvantage is that it is much smaller and less private than other honeymoon accommodations can be, such as a condo or villa.

Condo or villa – A hotel suite is the most common vacation accommodation, however it may not be romantic enough for your honeymoon. Choosing a condo or villa for your honeymoon, as opposed to a hotel, is usually dependant upon your budget and the length of your trip. The advantage of choosing a condo or villa is that they are much bigger and offer more room then a hotel, even a suite. The downside of choosing one of these lodging options that it is often more expensive and may not include services that you could receive at a resort.

Each of these options have their own appeal according to each individual couple. If you are an adventurous couple you may want to choose an outdoorsy resort that includes special activities over a villa or condo elsewhere. Or you may decide to do everything a la carte so that you can have more freedom and flexibility over what you do and where you do it. The main thing to remember when planning your honeymoon is that it is best to sit down with your fianc© and weigh each option carefully before you book a spot.
