The Spire Climbing Center offers 6,000 square feet of climbing surfaces. This facility allows climbers the opportunity to climb up to 38 feet, and they also provide plenty of room for top roping, lead climbing, and bouldering. New routes and climbing configurations are constructed each week to offer returning climbers new challenges each week that range in difficulty levels between 5.5 and 5.14, and V0 and V12. During the winter months this facility is open Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the Summer months the Spire Climbing Center is open: Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on the weekends from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Their rates range from $13 for a day pass to $396 for a year pass. In addition to renting climbing time you can also rent climbing packages, shoes, harnesses, chalk bags, lead ropes, and locking cabineers.

The Ridge Athletic Club offers their members and visitors a great climbing wall. They are open Monday through Thursday from 5:15 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Friday from 5:15 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on the weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. You will need to contact the club directly to ask about when the climbing area of the club is open to guests and members. Rock Climbing in Bozeman Option Number Three:

Gallatin Canyon

One of the most popular outdoor rock climbing areas in Bozeman, Montana is the Gallatin Canyon. To find this location take US 191 from four corners intersection and follow it for about 25 miles into the Gallatin Canyon. You can start from the pullout under the Gallatin Tower or you can cross the bridge and river and start your climb from the Lava Lake Trailhead. There are about eleven marked routes up Gallatin Tower. To attack this formation you will only need tradition gear such as: stoppers, hexes, rope, etc. One of the cautions for this formation is that some areas of the formation are unstable and the lead climber needs to make sure that they place the safety gear firmly and test it for rock weaknesses before the other climbers ascend. It is recommended that climbers tackling this formation practice their jamming skills before they start up.
