Rules of Camping at Lake Allatoona U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Campgrounds

To camp in the one of nine campgrounds on Lake Allatoona in Georgia that are ran by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers there are certain regulations campers need to take heed and follow. This article is a general guide to those rules and regulations.

Conduct Rules
No act that can disrupt another camper, including noise within the quiet hours of 10pm-6am, is permitted. You cannot interfere with a park ranger’s business or any government employee while they are on duty.

Use of Campground Rules
Due to limited space within the campground, campers are restricted to six campers and three vehicles per site, and six registered visitors. All visitors must leave by 10pm nightly. Campers are also limited to the length of stay in the campground and the Allatoona Lake Project. These stays are limited to 14 days consecutive in a park (or combination of parks) any 14 days nonconsecutive in a 30 day time period.

Pets must be leashed on a leash not longer than 6 feet and may not bark or cause other noises that bother other campers. They are not allowed in restrooms, playgrounds, shelters, or swim areas. There are a maximum number of 2 pets per campsite, and the pet’s waste must be picked up and discarded, not left in the park.

Fires at the park must be kept in the fire pits or grills supplied. Only the firewood you bring into the park, or that collected dead off the ground, may be used. There is no cutting, chopping or altering the trees in the parks. Garbage may not be left in the fire pits and grills.

Gray water must be kept in the camper or holding tank and not spilled in the park. There are dump stations and gray water sump pumps for that purpose.

Laundry services are for all campers and visitors but the laundry’s sinks can not be used for washing pets, dishes, or for cleaning fish.

Camper Rules
Campers must check out by 3pm with no exceptions unless they renew their reservation by that time. Check in times for reserved sites are at 4pm. Park gates close at 10:30pm and remain closed until 7am. There are emergency exits if one must get out of the park. There are fees associated with camping in the parks by site. Visitors pay $4 per vehicle or person if walking, and they must vacate the park by 10pm. Other fees include:

Sites without water or electricity $14
Sites with water and electricity $20
Sites with water and electricity on water $22
Sites with water, sewer, and electricity $24
Double campsites $40
