Ever since the first Hooters restaurant opened in Florida in 1983, the highly- successful restaurant chain has attracted massive amounts of publicity. With the opening of the Hooters Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2006, that is not likely to change. Located just one block off the main strip, across the street from the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino, the Hooters Casino Hotel is housed in the former San Remo Hotel. The new Hooters Hotel features 200 clean and sanitary rooms, many with internet access. While the furnishings are not that of a four- star hotel, the accomodations are more than adequate.

The beds are very comfortable and feature nice sheets and blankets. Sparkling clean bathrooms feature good- working showers and big, fluffy, Hooters- brand bath towels. Although not luxurious, the rooms at the Hooters Casino Hotel are extremely satisfactory. in a ‘less is more’ type of way.Of course, the official Hooters color of Orange is evident in some of the decor, but in a very tasteful way.

Contrary to what one may think, the world- famous Hooters Girls, with their short- shorts, pantyhose and owl- bedecked, low- cut tank tops, are not running around everywhere at the Hooters Casino Hotel. In fact, the only places where visitors are likely to see Hooters Girls dressed in uniform, is on the casino floor, at the outdoor pool area, or working as taxi attendants at the front entrance. While some people might consider the Hooters Girls’ attire and image to be risque’, or undesirable, in a city like Las Vegas, where toplessness is as common as jelly on toast, the Hooters Girls are downright wholesome and virtuous. The atmosphere and surroundings at the Hooters Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, is quite family and kid- friendly. There is nothing of a sexual or suggestive nature to be found anywhere in the operations of this first- class hotel and casino. Interestingly, during the 10th Annual Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant in Las Vegas recently, Hooters donated a $1million Breast Cancer research grant.

Through the years, the Hooters restaurant chain has grown into over 435 outlets in 46 states and 20 countries. With a simple food menu featuring sandwiches, burgers, seafood and their world- famous chicken wings, Hooters has found a formula for success. They have also branched into other endeavours, all bearing the Hooters name and likeness. Some of these projects include the Hooters Mastercard, the Hooters Golf Tour, the Miss Hooters International Pageant and the short- lived Hooters Airlines(2003-2006).

At the Hooters Casino Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, all of the staff members seem genuinely friendly and eager to assist visitors in any way needed. While not as large as some other casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada, the casino at the Hooters Casino Hotel has a good- sized gaming floor with many card- tables available. There are lots of slot machines, including many penny and nickel slots.On the casino floor, is where most of the Hooters Girls are, clad in their bright orange short- shorts and bow ties, with white tank tops. Drinks, or cocktails, served by Hooters Girls, are free while on the casino floor.

Located inside the Hooters Casino Hotel, is a very good steakhouse, which has an extensive menu, including a children’s menu. The food served there is elegantly presented and delicious. An actual Hooters restaurant is also located on the premises, as well as several other bars and smaller restaurants. The cost of staying as a hotel guest at the Hooters Casino Hotel is very inexpensive, by Las Vegas standards. Average nightly rates per person, are approximately $100.00.

Las Vegas, Nevada is growing in leaps and bounds. The Hooters Casino Hotel is a fun, economical and interesting place to stay at while enjoying all that Las Vegas, Nevada has to offer.
