Three Ways to Use an Old Cardboard Box in Your Home Office

Do you work from home? If so, you probably spend a lot of time in your home office. In order to make sure that your space gives you everything you deserve, there are many things that you can do. And no, you do not need to spend thousands of dollars to update your home office. Instead, you can use old, free items to make things easier on yourself. Take an old cardboard box for example. While you may think that one of these has no place in your office, you are not looking at the big picture.

Here are three ways that you can use an old cardboard box to make your home office more effective.

1. A cardboard box is a great place for you to keep junk papers. How many times a day do you get faxes and printouts that you do not want to deal with at the time, or forever for that matter? If you are like most people, the answer is a lot! If you have an old cardboard box you can toss all these papers in there so that you do not clutter the floor, or worse yet, your desk.

2. Having a home office often times means that you receive your mail at home. And once again, this can pile up in all the wrong places if you do not watch what you are doing. With a cardboard box labeled “mail” you will have a place to set everything that you receive. Just make sure that you only use this cardboard box for mail. This way you will not lose anything that you need.

3. Use cardboard boxes to store and organize your home office. Do you have old files on your desk that need to be stored for several months down the line? How about old tax files that you cannot afford to lose? Anything that is important, but needs stored, can be placed into a cardboard box. From there, all you have to do is label the box, and set it somewhere safe.

As you can see, if you get creative there is a lot that you can do with your home office space. You probably never thought that a simple cardboard box could do so much for you. But the fact of the matter is that this is only the tip of the iceberg. If you open up your mind, your home office can be updated and organized without spending any money at all!
