Top Pizza Joints in and Around Everett, Massachusetts

When it comes to Pizza joints, they are all different and each town generally has its favorites. Here is a review and comparison of three of the most popular pizzerias in the Everett area of Massachusetts.

Ultimate Pizza
176 Chelsea Street
Everett, MA 02149
617.389.7196

If you like traditional thin crust and papa Geno’s style cheese, which cools quickly and always seems to taste like leftovers even if it’s fresh out of the oven, then you probably won’t mind Ultimate Pizza. It’s definitely a neighborhood joint and the people are really friendly especially if you walk in. When my roommate and I first moved to Everett, we walked into the store after they were closed, unknowingly, and they gave us six free slices on the house. They also have a good variety of classic Italian fast food items like Baked Ziti, Mozzarella Sticks, Onion Rings, Lasagna, etc which tend to be better than an actual pizza. As far as consistency in service, however, Ultimate Pizza falls a bit behind, for even though we live right around the corner there seems to be only one delivery person that can make it successfully to our house on the first try. The past few times they’ve called stating they were outside when we were standing in our empty driveway. Aside from that, the other big issue with Ultimate is that on a whim, the boys over there will take it upon themselves to close early. Whenever I’ve called or strolled in to order after the fact, they voluntarily assure me that “the boss said they could close up now since they were slow” which probably means they were totally taking the chance at getting busted for their un-Ultimate behavior, but once they’ve turned the oven off there really isn’t much that you as a patron can do. So I just account for this potentially early shut down and make sure to arrive there before 9:30pm, as they close by rule at 11:00pm. But overall, Ultimate pizza is open late (for Boston area) which is convenient and if you live near Chelsea and Ferry Streets intersection, the convenience factor almost outweighs the meritocracy every time. And even though I’ve grown a bit sick of their pizza, I grew some legs and now walk around the corner from my house to the Ultimate Pizza shop where I am promptly served a pre-made, (but super fresh), feta-covered Greek Salad with Greek Dressing on the side.

Nana’s Pizzeria
750 Washington St
Revere, MA 02151

Pronounced Nanna like Nah, nah-nah boo-boo, Nanas, or Mama Nana’s as we like to call it in our wacky household, pizza joint has been a favorite for Everett and Revere area residents for many years now. (Note: Nana’s is officially located on the very edge of the Revere/Everett border and attracts customers from the entire conglomeration of surrounding small towns). One of their most popular pizza styles is the white pizza, fresh mozzarella which has a special nickname that sounds like Zah Zah but maybe start with a different consonant. I have yet to try other entrees at Nana’s Pizzeria but the regular cheese pizza is decent as well, as long as you eat it while it’s hot. It is made with sweet red sauce and thin, rich mozzarella cheese that is so oily that it falls of easily and doesn’t stretch. The next day the pizza tastes awful though. However, Nana’s Pizzeria is open late and will deliver to anywhere in Everett for free. They always are on time and accurate in their delivery. One thing to notice though is that if you want a good amount to drink with your pizza you might want to hit up a local liquor or convenience store first before ordering the pizza. For Nana’s upon a beverage request will bring you only soda in cans and is restricted, I’m pretty sure, to Pepsi products.

Chuck-E- Cheese’s
29 Mystic View Road
Everett, MA 02149
617.387.4689

Located in the Gateway Center shopping plaza, Chuck E. Cheese’s is a blast for people of all ages. Bring your kids to play in the big game room, or if you don’t have any borrow someone else’s. But no, you don’t necessarily need to t attend Chuck E. Cheese’s with a child in tow, but since it’s mostly kids in there, you might feel slightly out of place without one. This is a great place for birthday parties. The kids will be entertained by one of the many different attractions. Watch them giggle and/or talk back to large animated robot type animal figures! Get tickets for playing games like ski ball and basketball and save up and exchange them for cool items at the front. Let your kids play in the huge tower of multicolored balls, or watch them have fun up high in one of the elevated “Sky tubes”. There are also many auto simulators and G-Rated video games for safe, well rounded interactive fun for all ages, and both boys and girls. The pizza here is delicious and the fountain soda is so good and fresh it burns your throat almost. Chuck E. Cheese’s has the kind of pizza that is stretchy and thick with a thicker, buttery crust to go along. Along with the obvious pizza menu option, Chuck E. Cheese’s serves hot dogs, grilled sandwiches and even cotton candy for the sweet tooth that follows your delectable meal. This is certainly a one of a kind place, not to mention a unique style of tasty pizza. If you can find an excuse to drop by Chuck E. Cheese’s, I highly recommend you do so. Chuck E. Cheese’s is in the Gateway Center in Everett, off of Route 16 and 28, in the same plaza as Target, Michaels, Home Depot and Bed, Bath and Beyond. Located all the way to the right once you drive into the designated shopping plaza parking lot entrance.
