Top Ten Songs by Trace Adkins

While it is hard to choose only the top ten songs by Trace Adkins, I have done my best to compile a list of his all-time best songs. Beginning his career with his debut album, Dreamin’ Out Loud in 1996, Trace Adkins has only improved his music and style over the years. While I enjoy his more current music the most, I have found that he has had several great songs since the beginning of his career. While Trace Adkins may not have many number one hits under his belt, he has consistently performed songs that make it to the Country Top 40 Countdown. With 20 songs that have made it to the Top 40, 17 have been in the Top 20 and 11 of those have made it to the Top 10. And just by coincidence, my top ten songs by Trace Adkins happen to be from those Top 40 hits!

So without further ado, here is the list of top ten songs by Trace Adkins, the album they are from, and a little about why you will love the songs. And rather than try to determine what order to put these top ten in, I have decided to list them chronologically, from the oldest to the newest.

Number 10: Every Light In the House Is On – Dreamin’ Out Loud – 1996 – This is an excellent song for anyone that has been left by a girl/boyfriend or husband/wife and is having a hard time getting over it. I know, some of you are thinking, “Who needs another sappy break-up song?” But this song gives you an idea of what you can do to let them know you still care and also let them know when you have decided to move on.

Number 9: No Thinkin’ Thing (This Ain’t) – Dreamin’ Out Loud – 1996 – This is a great song that just tells you that there is no way to rationalize being in love. Don’t try to figure it out! Just let it happen!

Number 8: More – More… – 1999 – Do you need more love? This song is for you!

Number 7: Help Me Understand – Chrome – 2001 – Are you feeling like you just don’t quite understand what happened to your relationship that has ended? Don’t worry, you’re not alone. If Trace Adkins can’t figure it out, what makes you think you can?

Number 6: I’m Tryin’ – Chrome – 2001 – Have you been through a divorce? Do you feel like all you do is work to pay the alimony/child support? Maybe you can relate to this one! Ladies, are you hard on the guys for having trouble paying that alimony/child support? Maybe you should give this a listen!

Number 5: Chrome – Chrome – 2001 – Any guys out there with a lady friend that is into cars? Any ladies out there into cars? This is the song for you!

Number 4: Then They Do – Greatest Hits Collection, Vol. 1 – 2003 – A previously unreleased song by Trace Adkins before this CD came out, although I’m not sure why. This is probably one of his best songs. Of course, I may be biased because I have kids and this song is about kids growing up too fast.

Number 3: Hot Mama – Comin’ On Strong – 2003 – All you ladies out there with kids! Are you feeling like you’ve lost that sex appeal? Do you think your husband doesn’t want you any more? Think again! Listen to this one and you’ll feel a whole lot better!

Number 2: Honky Tonk Badonkadonk – Songs About Me – 2005 – This is probably the most controversial song performed by Trace Adkins. So much that the local country station here would not even play it except on the Top 40 Countdown. This one is definitely for the guys, but if the ladies have an open mind, they may like it too! Oh, and guys, be sure to check out the video!

Number 1: Swing – Dangerous Man – 2006 – Yet another song for the guys, but more enjoyable for the ladies to know that the guys strike out more often than not!

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen! The top ten songs by Trace Adkins. If you have never listened to him, this is the list to start with. There is a little something in his music that everyone can relate to. Hope you enjoy the music and keep on listening!
