Women’s Issues: Taking Time Off Work for Your Health

It is no secret that we, as women, are overly busy. How many times do we hear men say, “I am so tired, I put in a long, hard days work.” Then, they kick back and relax or take a nap as if it is owed to themâÂ?¦ well, it is. You see, men have the right idea. It just takes us women longer to realize just how important adopting this same train of thought can actually be for us.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

The reasons for this are simple. Our work is never doneâÂ?¦ that is why it’s our motto to say “there are never enough hours in a day.” We are always worrying that our normal everyday routines will back up beyond control if we take the time to just STOP and relax. Well let me put it this way, if we don’t start taking some time off then our familiesâÂ?¦ the ones we work so hard for, will suffer ultimately.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

Stress is the silent killer that flows throughout our world as an invisible sea of torment. It is not just mental or emotional; the most obvious signs are very physical and can destroy your health. Just a few signs that your body is collapsing under the pressures of stress according to medical documents are as follows:¯¿½

â¢ Sleep Disorders, which can cause irritability, mood swings, fatigue/exhaustion, and making you prone to not only vehicle accidents but also avoidable accidents in your home and around your work place.¯¿½

âÂ?¢ Weakening of your Immune System, which lowers your body’s defense against all the millions of bacterial and viral infections not to mention that this significantly increases your risk to develop certain types of cancer.Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

Major Contributor to Serious Health Problems, such as: Heart disease, high blood pressure, Migraines and arthritis.

Superman Who?

Let’s face it, you are a modern day superhero whether you like it or not. Your home would be in peril if it weren’t for you saving the day, all day, every day. Think of it, we have many identities but only one body. This applies to both the working woman and the home maker. Tell me, does this sound familiar?Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

I’m a taxi driver, house keeper, daycare provider, chef, vet, mommy doctor, teacher, accountant, gardener and counselor.
We take on so many projects and we are all, to a certain extent, meticulous about every little thing we do. If we weren’t, marriages and families would fall apart at the drop of a hat. It is in our nature to fix everything that is broken, take care of everyone who needs it (and trust me they are everywhere), prove to everyone including yourself that you can do anything you set your mind to, and most importantly to keep everyone’s lives and physical being in a strong and happy condition. Yes, we are powerful aren’t we? God blessed us with the compassion and love to take care of othersâÂ?¦ but we should also remind ourselves to take a little time off and learn to step away from work long enough to enjoy life.
And Spiderman thinks he has issues. Men love super hero’s ladies, why do you think they love us so much?

There is Hope for the Over-Worked

Laura Du Priest is an amazing woman who has completely transformed her life. She was once a woman like millions of us, taking care of everyone else but utterly neglecting our own bodies and physical needs. But as she saw herself in an unhealthy state she decided to do something about it. Laura is an author, television personality and owns her own salon where she has her very own line of cosmetics.¯¿½

She realized how deadly stress can be if it is allowed to consume you. Laura has offered some tips for all of us who suffer from this common problem. “It is a very serious condition that can be treated quite easily. For instance, instead of taking a shower indulge in a relaxing bath. I try to devote 10% of my day to something relaxing like a massage; those are very popular and amazingly helpful.”Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½

Also, exercising she points out is mandatory to stimulate your natural endorphins.
It’s the little subtle things that can help you conquer this deadly menace.
Salons have various massage packages that are affordable, it is definitely worth your time to check out the salons in your area for these treatments. Laura Du Priest Salon offers an array of different wraps and massages that provide a soothing and comforting experience.¯¿½

“I also support aroma therapy. I recommend buying oils and lotions and always keeping them on hand. For example, lavender is a multitasking plant that everyone should keep in the glove compartment of their car and as you drive home just open it up and smell the air. It is so calming.” Laura advised.
Terry from Hues Salon, a popular shop in Rocklin California, offers several different kinds of Swedish Aroma therapy and facials to also alleviate stress. Their massages are fairly priced at around $15 to $25, the entire aroma therapy spa packages start at $140 for a real treat.¯¿½

So, depending what you want and need there are tranquil ideas to help you transform your life into a healthier and happier you. We are more important to the lives around us than we sometimes realizeâÂ?¦ we can’t continue to care for others if we neglect ourselves to the point of death. If you don’t want to do it for yourself then do it for your family who still needs you.
