Difference between Bullmastiff and Boxer

Bullmastiff and boxer are two dog breeds which are famous all over the world because of their gentle temperament and dog lovers always like keeping these dogs at home. Sometimes people mistakenly consider both of these breeds as the same and think that the words bullmastiff and boxer can be used interchangeably. However, even with an average observation you will be able to notice many prominent differences between these two famous breeds that make bullmastiff and boxer distinguished from each other. People like to keep these dogs at their home because of their friendliness and loyalty.

Bullmastiffs are stronger and taller while boxers are not that tall as they are average heighted dogs. Because of the huge body, bullmastiffs are considerably heavier while boxers are not heavy and have average weight. The boxers are more energetic and agile as compared to the bullmastiffs. The tail and ears of boxers are cropped as they grow up while bullmastiff’s tail and ears remain un-cropped. The colour of bullmastiff’s muzzle is more pronounced than the boxer’s muzzle. Boxers do not have drooping lips but bullmastiff’s dropping lips have a major element of their identification. Bullmastiffs have a tendency of inheriting diseases but boxers usually are not prone to inherit diseases.

    Bullmastiff:

    Bullmastiff is a famous dog breed that results from the crossbreeding of Old English bulldog and English mastiff breeds and it has its origin in Europe. The main purpose of bullmastiff’s creation was to make them watch dogs for property like homes and farm houses. Bullmastiff has a rough and harsh coat which is quite dense and its colour is a mixture of four colours including fawn, red, brindle and brown. The average weight of bullmastiff is between 50 to 60 kilograms in males and 45 to 55 in females. The average age of bullmastiff is between 8 to 11 years.

    Boxer:

    Boxer is a widely famous breed of dogs that has a smooth coat along with short hair. The nostrils of boxers are slightly upwards on the tip of muzzle. Boxer’s coat is usually a mixture of brindle or fawn colours with white markings. Boxers have strong muscles and their weight is around 28 to 34 kilograms. The average age of a boxer is between 9 to 11 years. The major reason of boxer’s popularity is that it is very friendly and loyal dog.
