Difference between Dopamine and Serotonin

Dopamine and Serotonin are two different terms of that relate to various brain activities. Dopamine and Serotonin are two nerve cells which work separately in different chemicals imbalances. Dopamine is a nerve cell neurotransmitter and is very important for body movements and other related functions while Serotonin is used to regulate sleep and emotional activities. Both are crucial for maintaining a healthy outlook. Dopamine and Serotonin are also called biogenic amines. They are also known to influence activity in other nerve cells. These cells manage different actions in humans including mental, emotional and physical health. If anyone faces deficiency of amine cells, it can create different health issues. As medicine has advanced considerably over the past few years, it is relatively easy to treat those that might be suffering from decreased or elevated levels of Dopamine and Seratonin.

    Dopamine

    Dopamine is an essential part of neurotransmitter as it helps in body movements and other related functions. The chemical imbalances of nerve cells basically serve in various ways. They have the capability to travel and send signals into the whole body via different nerve cells. Human brain is very complex as it involves overall controlling of the body through different memory cells. Dopamine basically modulates the information with the association of memory, attention and problem solving actions. Sometimes the human brain with degeneration dopamine, produces large amounts of hormones. On the other hand, the large production of hormones sometimes result in Parkinson disease, social phobia, attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) and major types of depression. Doctors treat these types of patients with great care and give a precursor of Dopamine. It has become a standard practice of using Dopamine for treatment. This release of Dopamine will result in smooth recovery however feeling 100% is still not guaranteed in these types of diseases.

    Serotonin

    Serotonin is used to regulate sleep and emotional activities. It is a neurotransmitter nerve cell. Excess of serotonin in one’s body can cause various problems like shivering, diarrhea, muscular rigidity, fever and seizures. On the other hand, the deficiency of this important nerve cell can also cause various issues like depression, fatigue, sleep and appetite disorders. Many people that suffer from various physical issues can usually attribute it to Seratonin levels in the body. There are many drugs available in the market that treats this deficiency and at the same time increases the level of serotonin in the body.
