Music is something that has become a part of our lives and something that we cannot live without. It gives us a chance to escape and go into a whole other dimension with our imagination, giving us peace and serenity, but not everyone likes the same kind of music with different genres making it unique and creative.
There are various types of music genres from rock, heavy metal to hip hop and rap. They all are very different in nature and have a totally different following, but the genre that has really grabbed the audiences recently is hip hop and rap. Formerly known to belong to the African American community, rap and hip hop is now seen to be common in various parts of the world including Asia, Africa and Latin America, with North America being the hub.
Most people, despite being fans of both genres, just may not be able to tell the difference between the two genres and it may not be easy to do as well since the two have now been incorporated into each other. Rap is usually known to be the lyrical singing of a rapper that tells a story using rhyming words and the beat is usually something the singer is not too dependent on. Hip hop is the other way around since the singer is dependent heavily on the music and beat of the song unlike rap.
A rap song may be without the hip hop dance beat and hip hop music may be without a rapper in it, but that is harder to find nowadays as the two have been combined to form some pretty good music, blowing away the competition on the music charts.
As rock was popular in the 70’s and 80’s, hip hop and rap took away the scene after that as some big names came together to change the way we listen to music forever.
