Difference Between Tagline and Slogan

Many people do not seem to be able to understand the difference between a tagline and a slogan. This is because they are often considered to be the same thing. However, this is not the case, since the two are quite different. Despite that fact, both of them are equally important to launch an effective marketing campaign.

The tagline is just a short line or a phrase which is used to get a company to become well known in the future. The primary purpose and reason behind having a tag line is to help the product attract their target market, while creating a sense of understanding. Sometimes the tagline will prove to have some brief organizational goals or information about the product in it.

Slogans on the other hand are used in some very specific advertising and marketing campaigns. These are those campaigns which the organization wishes to be a part of. The slogan tends to change from time to time, since the slogan needs to be hip, modern and up to date with the latest trends in the market. Slogans tend to create an attachment or association with the customers, sometimes they are very simple things, which make the customers feel safer and more secure about the organization.

    Slogan

A slogan is a motto or a phrase which is used in context to express an idea or a purpose. Slogans are normally written, but they are crafted so that they are easy to chant, say, remember and so that they look visually pleasing when they are printed out. Slogans are often considered to be a form of expression, as opposed to them being a means to communicate with a specific or a desired audience.

    Tagline

A tagline in some regards is considered to be a variation on a slogan. It is normally used for marketing purposes, and is a very crucial part of advertisements. The main goal behind a tagline, is to create a phrase which is memorable and one which can be easily remembered. It needs to be simple and it needs to store itself in the audiences memory, with a minimal number of repetitions. Some taglines become so popular, that they tend to become a part of pop culture and are used in normal day to day conversations.

This is why every company tends to try to hire experts to help them come up with taglines, so that they can have that lasting impact on the customers. Taglines also tend to get updated every now and then, to stay up to date with the change in global trends.
