Window's registry holds all the configuration settings related to installed applications, users and even the kernel. Make sure that your computer or laptop is on and that Windows has completely loaded. Click on “Start Menu”, and then click on “Run” option. There are different ways of doing this step but if you are even a basic user you should not have any problems doing this.
You will see a small box having a text field. Type “Regedit” and hit enter. This will take you to the registry.

Save that file to secure place and hit enter.

To restore the registry from backup created, revise step 1-3 and then from drop down menu select ”Import entry”, and present the path of your backup.
