Making a Natural Garden Pesticide

If you are an avid gardener, or simply someone looking to add some beauty to their home, you understand the importance of having healthy and thriving plants. As much as you appreciate the fact that there are a lot of critters who feast on some of those beautiful plants, you probably don't want that happening in your garden.

Luckily, there is an effective and easy natural garden pesticide that is totally safe for all parties involved. Rather than spreading harmful chemical-based materials all over your land, why not give this a shot and see how effective Mother Nature can be.

Things Required:

Hot peppers: 2
Onion: 1 large
Garlic: 1 whole bulb
Hot water: 1/4 cup
Large container
Spray bottle

Instructions

  • 1

    Blend It

Toss the peppers, onion, garlic and water into a blender or food processor and let it rip until a mash is formed.

  • 2

    Cover and Sit

Place the mash into your large container and cover it with up to 16 cups of hot water. Allow this to sit for 24 hours so that the mash steeps the water. Strain the mix and place the liquid into a spray bottle. Hang onto the mash.

  • 3

    Spray

Using the spray bottle, generously spray the leaves and base of your roses, vegetables and other valued plants. The vegetables used deter most insects, including grasshoppers and aphids to name a couple.

  • 4

    Go Digging

Remember the mash? Observe your garden and determine where in the flower beds the insects seem to be most populous. Dig into the soil there and plant the mash. The ingredients will keep insects away and help you maintain a beautiful garden.
