The first thing you need to do is to save the PowerPoint presentation that you wish to place into Windows Movie Maker as an image file. In order to do that, locate your presentation and double click it to open it.
Once the PowerPoint presentation is open, locate and click the “File Menu” tab and from there, select “Save as.” A new window will open, prompting you to choose the location on the computer where you want the file to be saved, while also asking you to name the file. You will also notice a drop-down menu “File Type.”
Click the “File Type” menu to make it expand and show you a variety of options. Select “PNG” from there. Enter the name of the file, choose the location where you want the file to be saved and then click “OK” to save the presentation as an image file.
After getting done with saving your PowerPoint presentation in the format of an image, click the “Start” button in the lower left corner of your screen to open the Start menu. Move your mouse cursor to “All Programmes” to make more programmes appear and from there, select Windows Movie Maker. Click it to run the programme. If you are a regular user of Windows Movie Maker, it is better to have a shortcut to the programme placed on the Desktop so that you can access it quickly.
After you open the Windows Movie Maker, locate and click the “File Menu” button and then select “Import” by clicking on it.
A new window will appear on the screen, prompting you to select the files that you want to import to Windows Movie Maker. Locate and select the PowerPoint presentation files that you saved with the PNG extension. You can select more than one file at a time by pressing and holding the “Ctrl” (control) button while making the selection. Click “Import” to add the selected files to the Windows Movie Maker.
Once the files are imported, click and drag them into the “Timeline” located at the lower end of the Windows Movie Maker. You can use the programme to add music, additional slides, transition style, and other features to your video presentation in order to customise it even further.
After you are done making the changes, select “Save” from the “File Menu” and choose the location where you want to publish the movie.
