Go to an online search engine such as Google, Bing or Yahoo. Type the search term ‘online government grants’ and hit ‘Enter’. The search engine will return a number of websites where you can apply for a government grant.
From the list of websites, choose a site with .gov domain. These websites are published and maintained by government organisations. This means that all the information you provide will remain secure and will not be misused.
Create a free account. You will need to use the assigned username and password once you have completed the grant application form.
If Adobe Reader is not already installed on your computer, download the programme from the official Adobe website. You will need Adobe Reader in order to read and fill in the application form.
Each type of grant is assigned a specific code. From the list of grant types, see the identification number or code. You will get the form download link only after you have entered the specific government grant code. If the website does not have a list of grant codes, you can take help from other online websites.
You can now download a soft copy of the government grant application form. Download and save it on your computer’s hard drive. Alternatively, you can also complete the form online in which case, you do not need to download the form.
Thoroughly read all sections of the form to get a feel of what information is required and how you are going to fill in the form. A section of the form will guide you as to how you are supposed to fill the form. Make sure you read that section properly.
Finally, submit the completed form. You will have to upload the completed copy of the application form to the same website from which it was downloaded.
