It is very important as you exercise to avoid heat stress which can lead to other more serious complications like heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Heat stress is basically when the body has a hard time cooling down from sweating. Most of the time, this is due to the fact that you are exercising in a hot climate or simply due to the fact that you are dehydrated. If you want to avoid heat stress while exercising then there a few easy to follow methods that you can use to help you enjoy your work out without having to worry.

    Try to exercise early in the morning or much later in the afternoon when the sun is not directly overhead. Avoid exercising in direct sunlight as the body will start to get dehydrated and you might suffer from heat stress. Remember to find the best time that suits you and stick to this routine. Most people usually prefer to exercise in the early morning hours as the sun is just on the horizon and the heat is nominal.

    Make sure that you are constantly drinking water during your exercise routine. Keep a bottle handy when you are outside jogging or walking. Even if you do not feel that thirsty it is a good idea to drink as much water as possible to avoid heat stress. The water will become sweat in your body and help you cool off more effectively.
