Before doing anything else, you will need to make sure that you have access to high speed internet connection. Turn on your computer and wait for Windows to upload. Enter your username and password and then find your internet browser icon in the start up menu. Consider navigating to the Internal Revenue website.
Before proceeding, make sure you have all the required personal details ready. Personal details such as social security number, employment details, bank details, full name and address must be provided to be able to check the refund status online. If you have changed your address recently, consider informing the IRS by speaking to one of the customer service members.
Once you have all the required information to check the tax refund status online, consider finding the “Where is My Refund “section on the IRS website. This is usually located at the bottom of the very first page.
As you land on to the “Where is My Refund” page you will be asked to provide your personal information. Once you enter the information into the online data base system, you will need to wait for a couple of minutes, allowing the database to locate your tax refund claim.
Now click the next button to see your IRS refund details on the next page. The IRS website is also expected to provide you with the time period you can expect before receiving your tax refund.
It is recommended to check the tax refund status using the IRS website at least twice a week. This will help you stay up to date with the status of your claim.
