How to Cite Prentice Hall Literature

Prentice Hall is one of the most famous publishers of textbooks for schools, colleges and universities. If you are taking any information from a Prentice Hall textbook for your research paper or thesis, you will have to give a proper citation for the source in your bibliography at the end.

In order to cite a Prentice Hall Literature, you will have to follow some basic guidelines for citing a printed textbook. There are generally two types of citations namely APA (American Psychological Association) and MLA (Modern Language Association). The arrangement of the elements in the citations depends on the method you use.

    You have to begin your citation with the last name of the author and the first initial. For instance, if the author’s name is Howard Alesi, you will use ‘Alesi, H.’ in your citation. If you are using any information from a corporate author e.g. UN, you will just mention the same name in your citation.

    Then, you have to include the title of the book in your citation. Please note that you have to mention the name of title in italic font. In addition, you have to capitalise only those words which are proper nouns and the first letter of the book title, like this Alesi, H. (2012). The history of cultural and economics. Besides, you will also have to mention the edition of the book (if you are using any edition other than the first one). For example, Alesi, H. (2012). The history of cultural and economics (2nd ed.).

    After that, you have to mention the city, state of publication and the name of the publisher. For example, Alesi, H. (2012). The history of cultural and economics (2nd ed.) Lower Nile River, NJ: Prentice Hall.

    You can also use MLA style to cite the Prentice Hall literature. Start your citation with the last and the first name of the author from whose work you have taken information for your paper. For example, Alesi, Howard. Now, write the title of the book in italic font and in title case like, Alesi, Howard. The history of cultural and economics. If you are using edition other than the first one, you have to mention it e.g. Alesi, Howard. The history of cultural and economics. 2nd ed. Then, mention the name of the city of publication, publisher’s name, year of publication and the medium. In the end your citation will become, Alesi, Howard. The history of cultural and economics. 2nd ed. Lower Nile River, NJ: Prentice Hall, 2010. Print.
