Instructions

  • 1

First of all you need to have sausage cooked by using ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat in a Dutch oven until the colour is well browned.

  • 2

To the undercooked ground beef, add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water along with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and parsley.

  • 3

Cook lasagna noodles in a large pot of lightly salted water for 8 to 10 minutes followed by draining and rinsing with cold water.

  • 4

Mix ricotta cheese with egg fried and cut into small bits along with remaining parsley and ½ teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl.

  • 5

In the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread 1½ cups of meat sauce with 6 noodles lengthwise and one half of the ricotta cheese mixture plus a one-third of mozzarella cheese slices for topping.

  • 6

On the top of mozzarella, spread 1 ½ cups meat sauce with spoon, sprinkling ¼ cup Parmesan cheese and repeat for more layers.

  • 7

Top the prepared matter with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese for all layers. To avoid sticking, cover with foil otherwise you can also spray foil with cooking spray to ensure that the cheese is not in contact with the foil.

  • 8

Put the prepared stuff in an oven, pre-heated to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 minutes. Make sure that the foil is removed while cooking for additional 25 minutes.

  • 9

Your Lasagna is now ready but you have to wait for atleast 15 minutes so that it cools down a little bit before you serve it.
