How to Cook Sausage and Peppers

Sausage and peppers is a very popular Italian dish that is not only delicious but very easy to make. Depending on your personal choice, you can cook spicy or sweet sausages along with peppers and onions in a small frying pan. The ingredients are cooked in tomato wine sauce for improved texture and taste. Sausage and peppers can be served with sandwiches or pasta. You can also prepare sausage and peppers on an electric griddle to save time.

Utensils: Stove Top or Electric Griddle, Medium-sized bowl, Small bowl, Fork, Tongs, Large bowl, Wooden spoon

Ingredients:
Olive oil: 1 tbsp
Red bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch rings: 1
Yellow bell pepper, cut into 1/4-inch rings: 1
Medium yellow onion, thinly sliced: 1
Worcestershire sauce: 1 tbsp
Balsamic vinegar: 1 tsp
Dried basil: 1 tsp
Dried oregano: 1 tsp
Sweet or hot Italian sausages: 4

Instructions

    First, turn on your electric griddle and allow it to heat up on medium temperature. Put the onion and sliced peppers in a medium sized glass bowl. In another bowl, mix basil, oregano and Worcestershire sauce with vinegar. Set aside for about 10 to 15 minutes. Next, pour some olive oil on the griddle and allow it to heat up.

    Put onions and peppers on the griddle and continue to cook until they are soft and tender. Use a wooden spoon to turn them upside down to ensure even cooking. Mix the peppers and onion with Worcestershire sauce and use a wooden spoon to make sure they are completely coated with the sauce to enhance the flavour.

    Cut the sausages along its length several times and place them on the griddle. Continue to apply the sauce mixture on the sausages until they are evenly cooked. It is recommended to cook the sausages for at least 15 minutes at 160 degrees Fahrenheit to achieve the required taste and texture. Flip the sausages occasionally to prevent them from burning.
