Do some introspection and try to assess what you can do with your life in the future. Sit down for an hour or so and write down the aims and goals that you want to achieve in the future. Ask yourself what you can do and why you should do it, and you are likely to come up with several answers. Write all the answers and review them later, in order to try to figure out what can be beneficial for you and what can make your life hard. Bear in mind that you might end up coming up with answers that carry no weight and say nothing; however, this should not keep you from thinking. Think until you find a positive, yet realistic answer to what you should do with your life.

Assess your capabilities. Remember that it is usually possible to do more than your best. If you know what “best” means to you, you can do more than your best in order to make your life rewarding. Asses your capabilities by determining what you are good at. The best way to find out what you are good at is to know what interests you the most. You may be working in a medical field, but it is possible that you are driven more by art and culture than anything else. Although it is possible for you to excel in the medical field despite your love for art, you would still be better off doing what you love to do the most.

Ask others to help you find out what you can do with your life. Most of the time, it is someone else that points out to us what we can do to make our life better. Be courageous enough to get advice from your relatives, friends, teachers and professionals in other fields. If you are a student, your teacher can be your best mentor.
