If you have a Canon camera that requires you to install a specific software program to send pictures from your camera to computer, then you will have to install it first.
Insert the software CD in the CD drive and run the installation process. Proceed with the onscreen prompts, and select the location where you want to save the installation files. Click the “Finish” button to end the installation process.
Once the installation is complete, you can attach your camera with computer, by the USB cable that came with your camera. Connect one end with your camera and the other with computer USB port.
Your computer will now detect your camera and configure it. Once done, you will be able to see the contents of the camera in your explorer. Copy all the pictures from your camera and paste them in your desired location.
If you want to delete the image files from your camera, after you transfer them to your computer, then you should “Cut and Paste” command, as it will delete the source files right after they get transferred to computer.
If your camera does not require you to install a specific software program to download the pictures, then you can connect your camera directly using the USB cable. Your computer’s operating system will automatically install the required driver files and you will be able to see the contents of your camera in your computer.
If you do not have USB cable or you lost it somewhere, then you can just take out the card inserted in the camera and insert it into the card reader, if you have it installed in your computer. The rest of the process will be same to the one used in the fourth step.
