How to Freeze Green Peppers

Peppers are used in a lot of dishes and especially if you love to cook food on your own, then you will definitely need peppers every time! And what if you get them ready? Preserving any fruit or vegetable is a good choice since it saves you both money and time. Since peppers are used in every other spicy dish, so each time when you are to make a dish then these preserved  peppers come in handy!

There are many ways of preserving peppers but the easiest one to follow at home is freezing them. This way, it is safe to use these peppers for the next 9 months to come. But you will have to compromise on storing peppers in this way since it makes them less nutritious and some of the goodness gets lost. In addition to this the peppers get less crispy and therefore they must be added in dishes that do not necessarily require crispy peppers.

Things Required:

– Peppers
– Freezer Bags
– Stick on Sheets( for marking purpose)
– Pen (for marking purpose)
– Sauce Pan
– Boiled Water
– Cold Water

    First of all, wash all bell peppers thoroughly under running water. Chop away the top and scoop out the seeds from inside. Chop the peppers in any way that you desire.

    Next fill the sauce pan with water and let the water boil. As soon as the water starts bubbling start adding the chopped peppers in it. Let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes. This will kill any bacteria present in it.

    Immediately cool the peppers by putting them in the ice water to avoid over cooking. Leave for 2 to 3 minutes.

    Now take freezer bags and add the chopped peppers in it. Finally make it air free and zip it. Label them with a stick on paper and pen. Your peppers are ready to be stored! Happy storing!
