When lying under the sun, you will be sweating hard and ultimately this deficiency of water will make you an easy target of UV rays. The best way to avoid dehydration is to drink plenty of water and apply liberal amounts of sun screen.
Use a good sun block and lotion:
Before going out into the sun, make sure that you are carrying a good sun block or sun screen lotion. You will have to apply these products over and over again to protect yourself from intensive sun rays. Dermatologists suggest 20+ sun block for extra shield; however, you should select a lotion according to the PH of your skin.
Do not shave immediately before tanning:
The most common mistake people make is to shave just before they start tanning. This is very wrong, as it can cause a rash or itch on the sensitive parts of the body. The best way to go about it is to shave two days before you go out to tan yourself.
Protect your eyes:
Apart from shielding your body, eye protection is also necessary while lying under the sun. The eyes are very heat sensitive so you should wear glasses or at least a hat. A hat will also protect your head from the burning sun.
Wear appropriate dress:
You should wear appropriate clothing, like a bikini, to get a safe tan. Inappropriate outfits will leave marks on your body and you will get an uneven tan.
Choose the right time:
You should go out when the sun's rays are not too strong. Mostly, sun rays are dangerous from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. You can easily tan safely in the sun during the late afternoon.
