    Requirements


    Chinese Embassy asks for the following documents from the applicants as a basic requirement for the tourist visit visa:


    (a) Completed application form that should be signed by the applicant.
    (b) Original Passport that should be valid for the six months from the date of application
    (c)  There should be at least one blank visa page
    (d) One recent passport sized photograph that should be in light color background
    (e) You also need to submit the Invitation letter from a Chinese organization or permanent resident in china
    (f)  If you are not invited by the organization, you will have to provide return air tickets
    (g) Hotel reservation
    (h) Non-UK passport holder will also provide the copy of their passport
    (i)   Visa fee


    You may have to submit additional documents because the requirements are subject to change annually.

    Visa Fee


    Single Entry Visa fee for the UK Passport holders is £30. If you are the National of any other country then Visit to See Visa Fee on the Embassy Website.


    You can pay your visa fee either by cash or postal order. If you want to submit your application in person, you will submit your visa fee on the time of application submission.

    Submission of Visa Application


    You can send your application using two simple methods.


    In Person


    You can submit your application by making a personal visit to the Chinese Embassy in London. In this case, you will first need to make an online appointment from the website of the Application centre website.

    When you reach the Chinese Embassy’s visa application section on the appointed date and time, you will have to wait in a queue. Wait and submit application when your number is called.

    Postal Service


    You can also send your application using a postal service. However, the Chinese Embassy suggests the use of the Royal Mail special Delivery service. If you are selecting the Royal mail, you should note down tracking number of your application so that you can check the status of your package by Royal Mail. Before sending, you should check your application for the completed documents and attach one pre-paid self-addresses postal envelope to get your passport back by postal service.


    Remember if you use the postal service, you will be charged extra £15 plus VAT for the visa delivery services.

    Processing Time


    Chinese Embassy takes only 5 days to process all Visa application. However, delays may be seen in specific case.

    Receive Passport


    If you submit your application in person, you will need to visit the Chinese Embassy to receive the Visa.


    However, if you submit your application using postal service, the Chinese Embassy will send you back Visa in a stamped pre-paid, self-addresses envelope that you sent on the time application submission. You visa will be delivered on the address you provided on envelope.
