Cradle cap is another harmless type of skin infection that is common in most of the babies. It is also known as nfantile seborrheic dermatitis and it looks filthy because of its greasy pale or white flakes all around the head. The flakes can appear either on infant’s head, forehead, ears, nose, cheeks, buttocks and many other parts of the body but the good thing is that they are always temporary.  Sometimes they also cause itching which certainly leads to bleeding hence if you find cradle caps on your baby’s body, you should go for some treatment as the babies feel uneasy with cradle caps and they look dirty.     Use emollients


    You can apply any type of emollient on the cradle caps and the best emollients to use are vegetable oil, petroleum jelly or mineral oil. After applying the emollient, give it an overnight to settle down.

    Use soft toothbrush to rub


    You can use a soft toothbrush or a terry cloth to rub the effective areas gently and after use of this technique you will be able to see the difference within two days.

    Shampoo your babies


    If you want your baby to get rid of cradle caps more quickly then you should wash their hair daily with any type of baby shampoo. Don’t forget to rub the flakes after shampooing.

    Use Hydrocortisone creams


    In case all of the above mentioned treatments fail to show you some result then you should go for 1% hydrocortisone creams. Apply the cream on effected areas daily for a week.

    Use Ketoconazole creams


    A Ketoconazole cream is an anti-fungal cream which is very effective against any type of fungal infections such as cradle caps. It can be used on almost all affected areas of the body. You have to use 2% Ketoconazole cream for your baby, apply it on the affected areas at least twice in a weak.
