How to Make a Breakfast Casserole

However, many people are usually careless about their breakfast because they are short on time in the morning, which affects their health adversely in the long run. However, to cater for that casseroles can be a good option. If you are normally in a hurry during the morning or have guests staying over, you can make this breakfast casserole the night before and put it in the oven for a couple of minutes, before serving this warm, easy and filling meal to begin your day.

Utensils: skillet, oven, baking sheet, large mixing bowl, small bowl, 9 by 13 inch pan, non-stick spray and foil paper

Ingredients:
Pork sausage: 1 lb.
Poultry seasoning: 1 tsp.
Bread cubes or croutons: 4 cups
Shredded cheese: 1 cup
Mustard powder: 1 tsp.
Eggs: 2
Salt: 1 tsp.

    Brown the sausage

    First of all, you are required to brown the sausage in a skillet. Make sure that you crumble it while cooking and also add poultry seasoning.

    Toast the bread cubes

    Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F and toast the bread cubes on a baking sheet for a few minutes. Meanwhile, using a non-stick spray, you need to spray a 9 by 13 inch pan and put it aside.

    Mix the ingredients

    Grab a large mixing bowl before adding the sausage, toasted bread, cheese, mustard powder and salt in it before you mix them nicely.

    You can now beat the eggs in a small bowl. In order to mix them well, you can add a small quantity of water.

    Pour the beaten eggs over the sausage mixture before you mix all these ingredients thoroughly. Make sure that everything is coated with eggs before you transfer the mixture to the sprayed baking pan.

    Having poured the mixture in the baking pan, you are required to cover it with foil before you place it in the refrigerator so that it can be made in the morning.

    The next morning, you need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and bake the breakfast casserole for about 40 minutes. Do not remove the foil from the dish even when it is getting baked. After 40 minutes, you should remove the foil from the dish and allow the casserole to be baked for another 20 minutes.
