How To Make a Lotion Bar

Making lotion bars is easy and at the same time excellent for your skin. With lotion bars, you can keep your skin hydrated with organic lotion instead of the ones you get in the market, which contain harmful chemicals. Moreover, applying lotion bars is easy and you can store them easily too, compared to lotion bottles that can take up a lot of space.

Things Required:

– 27 ounces of beeswax
– 27 ounces of shea butter
– 13.5 ounces of sweet almond oil
– 30 grams of orange 5X essential oil
– 13.5 ounces of avocado oil
– 3 grams of rosemary oil
– 15 grams of patchouli essential oil
– 15 grams of peppermint essential oil

    Your first step is to measure all the oils to make sure you are using the right quantity. Even the slightest up and down can cause damage to the entire process. Therefore, you need to make sure every oil mentioned above is in the right quantity.

    Now, put all the oils in a mixing utensil and heat them to a liquid form. Best option is to use a double boiler or a crock pot to melt the oils. Do not overheat the ingredients.

    Now, add three grams of rosemary oleoresin to the melted mixture. This is a very powerful antioxidant that will give your lotion added shelf life. Remember, rosemary oleoresin is one of the best natural oxidants that is used as preservers in such products.

    Next step is to measure the remaining essential oils, which are peppermint oil, orange oil and patchouli oil. Measure the oils in the exact quantity as mentioned above and mix them separately from the melted mixture you created before.

    Stir the mixture now and allow it to cool. This is your lotion recipe that is now ready to be moulded into bars.

    Now, you need to pour the mixture on a mould to give it the final shape. Allow the mixture to cool in the mould. Once it is solid, you can remove the bars and store them in a dry place.
