How to Make Bubble Gum at Home

The taste of bubble gum will definitely take you back to your childhood. Almost everyone at one time or another has chewed away on a big piece of bubble gum. If you want to try something different then making your own bubble gum at home can be a fun activity that you can do with your children. They will certainly appreciate your efforts as there is nothing better than having an endless supply of bubble gum. The best part about making bubble gum at home is that you can decide on the flavour and control the amount of sugar that goes in to it.

Ingredients:
Powdered sugar :3/4 cup
Gum base: 1/3 cup
Citric Acid: 1/2 cup
Glycerine: 1 teaspoon
Flavour: (as desired)

    Get a double boiler and put all the ingredients in it as you place it on the stove. Take a spoon and keep stirring all the ingredients. If you are making it in a microwave then heat it for one minute on high.

    Now it is time to add any flavour of your choice to the mixture. Add 5 to 6 drops of flavour in and mix it well.

    Remove the container from the stove and mix the material again for another 30 seconds. Continue stirring it until the paste is melted and has a gooey look.

    Now take the powdered sugar and mix it into the base. Use your fingers for this purpose and taste the blend to check the level of sugar.

    Now it is time to make small pieces of gum with kitchen scissors. Make sure that the gum pieces do not stick with each other. You can also wrap them in wax paper or place them separately.

    In the end, dust the gum pieces with powdered sugar. The whole process will hardly take about 20 minutes and your bubble gum is ready.
