How to Make Chocolate Lip Balm

Chocolate lip balm is an appetizing way to give a glossy touch to your dry lips. Vaseline along with chocolate form a protective layer on the surface of your lips, preventing the moisturizer from escaping. Not only does the Chocolate Lip Balm wets and looks after your lips, but it tastes and smells amazing too. Many brands of chocolate are available in the market that are a bit pricy. However, you do not need to buy it from anywhere as you can prepare it at home with the help of a few easily available ingredients.

Making chocolate lip balm at home is fun, easy and saves money and time. It will take you hardly 10 to 15 minutes. All you need to do is follow the below given steps:

Things you will need to make a chocolate lip balm:
– Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly
– Cocoa powder
– Empty Lip Balm Jar
– Ice-cream Stick
– Small Bowl
– Microwave Oven

    Grab a small bowl and place some Vaseline/ petroleum jelly in it.

    Note: Make sure to use a microwavable bowl to avoid the bowl exploding in the microwave.

    Place the bowl in oven and microwave it for 20 to 30 seconds or until the Vaseline is soft and watery.

    Note: If you do not have a microwave oven, then you can melt the Vaseline over low heat in a double boiler. Secondly, simply put some Vaseline or petroleum jelly in a small plastic bag, seal it and float it into a bowl of hot water to soften it.

    Once the Vaseline/ petroleum jelly is soft, remove the bowl from oven and add in some cocoa powder to the melted Vaseline / petroleum jelly before it cools. The main purpose of adding in cocoa powder to add flavor to the lip balm therefore add the amount according to your requirement and taste.

    Pick a small spoon or an ice-cream stick and mix both of the ingredients for a few second until they are mixed into one another and form a well-blended chocolate lip balm.

    Note: You can also mix the ingredients with the tip of your index finger, but make sure to wash your finger before and after mixing them.

    Gently pour the Vaseline-cocoa mixture into an empty lip balm jar and seal it thoroughly. Place a lip balm sticker on the lid of the jar to give it a more professional look – optional.

    Your chocolate lip balm is all set, place it in the refrigerator for some time until cool and tighten well. Apply it to your lips and enjoy!
