How to Make Italian Pork Chops

Pork chops are a great meal in themselves, but the addition of Italian flavours and seasonings can take them up an extra level in terms of flavour. If you are growing tired of regular grilled pork chops, try a version with a Sicilian punch, incorporating classic Italian ingredients like olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and garlic.

Begin by preheating your oven to 325 degrees F (160 degrees C). This will ensure that it is nice and hot by the time you are ready to begin cooking your pork chops.

Next, start preparing the coatings for your Italian pork chops. In one bowl, beat the eggs and milk together with a whisk, until both are thoroughly blended. Then take another bowl, and in this, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Use a spoon to make sure they are completely mixed.

Once all this is done, you can begin the cooking process. Take a large, oven-proof skillet, and place it on the stove over medium heat. Pour in the olive oil and heat it up. Add in the garlic, and stir it around, until it is cooked and browned, and the oil is fully infused with the garlic scent and flavour. Then, remove the garlic from the oil, and put it away for use in some other dish.

Now, prepare the pork chops, one at a time. Hold the chop by the bone, and dip it into the egg and milk mixture, and then into the bread crumb mixture. Make sure it is coated evenly, and once all the chops have been coated, place them in the skillet, and allow them to cook until they develop a golden brown colour on both sides – this should take about 5 minutes of cooking on each side.

Finally, slide the skillet with the pork chops into the oven for 25 minutes, in order to cook completely. The internal temperature of the oven should be around 145 degrees F (63 degrees C). Take them out when they are done, and serve with a side of Italian-style vegetables and potato wedges.
