- Frosted Cake
- Icing - your choice of color
- Pastry Bag
- Off-set spatula or small spoon
First of all, frost a cake to make Ombre Petals in it to give it an eye-catching look.
To make Ombre effect on the frosted cake, take one of your favorite color frosting and gently pour it into a pastry bag.
Note: Make that the opening (nozzle) of your pastry bag is not too wide or too narrow to get nice Ombre Petals on your cake.
Now, hold the pastry bag properly and pipe a medium vertical line of icing dot on the side of the frosted cake. Make sure to start with the lightest icing first in order to get the desired Ombre Petals.
Take an off-set spatula, place it in the middle of the icing dot and carefully press it down and extend it.
Continue step 3 and step 4 all around your cake to give it Ombre Petals effect.
Note: When you get to the end, just pipe the last vertical line of dots and do not wipe it.
