Utensils needed: paring knife, fruit colander, cutting board, plate, and bowls
- 25 jumbo strawberries
- 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 small box vanilla instant pudding
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
Select 25 fresh jumbo strawberries and place them in a fruit colander.
Now, wash the strawberries with cold fresh water and drain them thoroughly.
Wipe them and dry with a clean piece of cloth or paper towel.
Take a sharp paring knife and cut off the stems of the strawberries.
Use the same knife and gently cut an "x" deep into the fresh strawberries, making sure not to cut them all the way down. Set the strawberries until you prepare the almond cream.
Take a large bowl and place 3/4 cup of heavy whipping cream in it and blend it with a whisk until firm peaks are formed. Set it aside as well.
Grab another bowl and pour in 3/4 cup of milk. Top the milk with 1 small box of vanilla instant pudding and mix them until smooth and creamy. Add in ½ teaspoon of almond extract and whisk for two more minutes.
Stir in the previously prepared whipped cream and mix the two mixtures until incorporates well.
Pick an empty pastry bag and gently pour in the almond cream mixture.
Now, pick up the strawberries one by one and gently pipe the cream into them, dispersing the petals of strawberries with your finger tips in order to allow more cream to fit in.
Place your gorgeous strawberries in a large serving plate and garnish with fresh mint leaves, placing them all around the strawberries. Serve and enjoy!
Another method of filling strawberries
There is another simple method to fill almond cream into the strawberries. All you have to do is, wash them and wipe them dry thoroughly. Now, take a sharp paring knife and cut around the upper part of the strawberries (the stem). Do away with the stems and clean out with a sharp knife. Pour the whipped almond cream into a piping bag or pastry bag and fill the strawberries with it.
