How to Paint a Growth Chart for Children on the Wall

For the first few years of parenthood, it is just you who keeps track of your baby growing up, getting more hair, bones getting stronger and the baby being more responsive. You derive pleasure out of it each moment and then there comes an even more exciting stage where you can share the growing phase with your child, making them an active contributor in it.

When measuring a child’s growth, height is not, and cannot be the only factor, you will have to look into weight, strength, stamina and the immune system too. However, when using the growth chart on a wall, these elements get scaled down.

Once they realise the importance of it, their eating habits will improve too and they will become less choosy and picky with what you have cooked. Their concern over their growth can make your time in the kitchen stress free and enjoyable. There might even come a point where they will suggest what you can fix them for meals and maybe they will be willing to help too, so that will two burdens down.

In case you have twins, the growing phase can easily become more competitive.

    Make sure that the wall that you pick is the smoothest otherwise the design will have various bumps in it. Cover that particular wall with a new coating. Flat paint is highly recommended.

    Use of stencillingbrushes will aid you in to paint the stencil on the wall. You can use masking tape for holding firm the stencil on the wall.

    Next on, use a paper plate for putting the stencil paint. Dip the stencil into the paint in the paper plate, keep dabbing the paint on the wall until it is evenly distributed.

    Visit a craft store and buy number and line stencils. Use a measuring tape or a ruler to adhere the numbers on the wall at regular intervals. After measuring the equal distance between each, paint each number on the wall.

    From here on you will have to repeat the same procedure for each number. Place the line stencil firmly on the wall, and keep filling in the stencil with the paint.

    After the hard work, get some rest while the paint dries out. Then remove the stencils from the wall and wash them in case you have used water paints. In an otherwise situation, wash the stencils with a paint thinner.

    Get a print out of the images that you want to use for the stencil. You can cut the them the shape with the help of scissors or a knife.
