    Scraping and cleaning the surface:

In order to get a neat look after painting it is important to smooth out the surface with a scraper. This will remove any extra or loose paint that might otherwise give an uneven or untidy look. You may also use a knife for smoothing it out.

After scraping you will find a dust gathered on the porch deck. In order to get a clean look we must remove this too. So use a floor brush and clean away all the dust that is gathered due to scraping.

Also make sure that the floor is completely dry before applying the primer.

    Applying the first coat:

Once the surface is smoothed out and cleared off from dust, we can now apply the primer paint on the deck porch. Start your painting from one end to the other. Make sure that you are painting conveniently and methodically so that it won’t cause any botheration later. In order to reach the inner spaces, apply the paint with a foam applicator. When you are done applying one coat, leave it to dry.

    Cleaning the applicators:

Now during the time the paint is drying, start removing the paint from the applicators.  You can do this by adding a paint thinner or mineral spirits into a bucket and then dipping the applicators in it until the paint gets completely removed. Leave it to dry once the paint is removed. Afterwards throw away the paint wiping solution from the bucket.
