Gather all the items
The first thing you need to do is to gather all the items on a table as you would not want to be looking for the champagne bottle or ice when you have started. It is always convenient to start when you have everything at your disposal. This will make things easier for you.
Add ice to the bucket
You need to add ice to the ice bucket first. It is appropriate to add two scoops of ice to the bucket. However, since sizes of buckets vary, the standard is to fill at least half of the ice bucket. Make sure that you add ice cubes to the bucket rather than any other form of ice.
Pour water in the bucket
Pour one or two cups of water in the bucket then. The combination of ice and water will keep the temperature constant and the champagne will remain at the desired temperature for a longer period of time. If you need have less time to chill the champagne, you can use soda water instead of the water you use in the bucket.
Place the champagne in the bucket
The last thing would be to place the champagne bottle in the bucket. Carefully place the bottle in the centre and make sure you press it a bit so that the some portion if the bottle is covered with ice.
