How to Shade with Colored Pencils

Color shading is very similar to shading in dark and white–but it has its own techniques. You can set feelings, modify lighting style and make the outline of your image look more attractive with color coverings. Shaded pens can make ideal photorealism, modest balance or jazzy impressionist results and it all starts with color covering your desired object. The technique of shading with colored pencils is not that difficult if you have an artistic sense. Consider following some simple instructions and tips to learn how to shade objects with colored pencils.

Instructions

First, let's do an illustration of something we want to try and color. It allows you to know the shape of the object and where the mild, medium and dark colors drop on it. Flowers are excellent, because they have impressive colors and you can change the colors to suit your needs.

  • 2

Use your HP pencil or more complicated pen to copy or trace the collections of the sketch. Only duplicate the outlines of the object. Duplicating is a little better than searching at a certain point because you can make changes to any lines you didn't like in the first sketch and then enhance the sketch if desired.

  • 3

Drawing an object more than one time will usually mean your last illustration is a lot better than the first. Exercise the drawing twice until you have sketched the desired shape. Keep in mind that flowers differ slightly, so you don't have to have the actual position of the flower petals the same in every sketch. These are form sketches, just to set up the shape.

If you turn your referrals upside down and sketch it upside down, sometimes it will come out a lot more precise. At this level you are developing a shading guide web page for yourself with a shape illustration, although the lines are thinner and won't display under the colored pen.

Use the kneaded eraser to reduce the thickness of the lines of your last object illustration until you can hardly see them. Draw over the outlines in the colors of that area of the illustration on your image referrals.

You should also consider shading one color into another on another sheet of drawing paper. Draw an object of your choice and color one side with green and the other side with red. You can then shade red into green by following the instructions and tips given above.
