How to Take the Best Photos of Your Baby

Parents always love seeing their kids growing up and they cherish the sweet memories of parenthood throughout their life. What else can be better than taking kid’s pictures to preserve all the moments?

Normally, it is believed that one needs to call a professional photographer because taking a baby’s picture is not an easy job as you cannot direct them to pose for the lens. However, it is not as difficult as you think.

All you need to do is to keep couple of important things in mind. Just little preparation, patience and imagination can help you in taking the best photos of your baby.

    Prepare your baby:

    First thing you need to do is to prepare your kid for the photo session. Wash your baby’s face and change the clothes. However, if you want to make it a casual photo session then just capture them as they are. Simple and natural is always beautiful so do not go over the top with preparations.

    Do not let them know:

    Mostly kids are camera conscious so you should not alarm them by showing all the gadgets. It is better to capture them secretly as it will ensure that you get the natural expressions of your baby. If you can hide the camera then divert their attention and capture them when they are completely meditative.

    Go down to their level:

    You must lock their attention before clicking the camera button. Kids are great imitator so you can make them pose by doing interesting things in front of them. For example, if you want to capture them giggling then make faces in front of them. Trust me, this trick always works. Go down to their level and you will have the best photos of your kid.

    Find their best side:

    Your kids cannot tell you what angle suit them so you should try different camera angles to find out their best side. If you find some interesting and attractive feature, do not just stop after taking one picture.

    Close up photos are to show details so do not forget to take close up. However, do not just confine yourself to face. You can take close up of your baby’s tiny hands, feet, back of their neck etc.

    Take care of technicalities:

    Taking photos of kids does not mean that you do not need to take care of technicalities. Make sure that the background, lighting etc is appropriate.
