Sort out the initial plan
First of all, you need to plan the event completely. You need to make a guest list and plan out all the arrangements beforehand, so that there is no confusion later on. Make sure you write down each and every detail, and calculate the budget so that changes can be made accordingly.
The next thing you need to do is send out all the invitations for the block party. Make sure you invite every family from the block and list down the names so that no one is missed out in the end. You can also personally call up everybody to invite them to the party, but make sure you invite them two or three days before the event.
Plan for food
Make the arrangements for food. If you plan to keep snacks, order them two or three days before the party. Make sure you get plenty of beer and non-alcoholic drinks for the party too.
No party is complete without music, and you need to make sure that good music is played throughout the party. A great way to do this would be to hire a good DJ for the party, so that the tempo remains high throughout. People love to dance at such parties, so music is extremely important.
Decorate the block with colourful lights for the event and set a theme for the party. You can also set jumping rides for children and arrange indoor games for adults. Some of the popular games that are arranged at these events include egg races and balloon tosses.
